Where veterans and their partners find themselves unable to meet basic living expenses such as groceries, transport, rent or utility bills, RSL Queensland may be able to help cover the costs.
If you need more in-depth support – for example, emergency accommodation or ongoing assistance – we can work with you to create a comprehensive plan tailored to your needs. We may also connect you with other service providers to ensure you receive as much support as possible.
RSL Queensland’s emergency financial support is available to ex-serving ADF members who have completed at least one day of continuous full-time service, their partners, and Allied service veterans (subject to additional criteria) who are also:
- experiencing urgent financial hardship and unable to meet basic living expenses
- residents of Queensland or (subject to additional criteria) the Northern Territory.

You may also be eligible for emergency financial assistance, referrals to psychologists or addiction treatment facilities, and referrals to other support programs.
If you’re experiencing urgent financial hardship, RSL Queensland may be able to help with a limited, one-off amount of emergency funds to help cover your basic living expenses.
